Chianni is about 45 minutes by car from the Pisa international airport. While there is good bus service in the area, a rental car is the best way to explore Tuscany. Be sure to make arrangements with your travel agent before leaving for Italy, or you may pay up to twice as much for car rental.

ARRIVAL ROUTE from MILANO MXP
(total driving time appx 4h30min)
get on the A1, direction BOLOGNA. At km 99, turn towards La Spezia, and follow that until (again) you're at km 99, and head for LIVORNO. At the exit PISA CENTRO (Airport) get off the tollway and follow the freeway "FI-PI-LI" in direction FIRENZE. Get out at the exit PONTEDERA/PONSACCO, and turn left. Follow for CASCIANA TERME. Continue on the main road, until you reach "Ristorante Due Laghi" on your right. The next intersection left, over the bridge, at the end right. As you get to a STOP-sign after about 4 km's, turn right (note the yellow house on your right side). Next intersection left, "Croce del Magno". keep Right, uphill. You ll'find yourself right under the "castello" of Chianni, continue straight ahead, steeply uphill. At the STOP-sign, turn right: after about 100m you'll be in the centre of Chianni, where you'll find the "BAR MIGLIO" (closed on Mondays) - here will be our meeting point!

ARRIVAL ROUTE from FCO (Roma
Fiumicino)
(total driving time appx 4h30min)
Autostrada A1 direction FIRENZE, exit FIRENZE SCANDICCI (new exit since March 2006). Take "SGC FI-PI-LI" direction PISA, exit PONTEDERA: Follow "VOLTERRA". At the two roundabouts straight ahead, at the STOP right. In "LA ROSA" direction VOLTERRA (left) onto the SS 439. After appx 2 km turn right to TERRICCIOLA, uphill. Next intersection left (you are now just below of Terricciola). Follow the road down the valley again, turn left for CHIANNI via "Croce del Magno". Keep right, uphill. You ll'find yourself right under the "castello" of Chianni, continue straight ahead, steeply uphill. At the STOP-sign, turn right: after about 100m you'll be in the centre of Chianni, where you'll find the "BAR MIGLIO" - here will be our meeting point!
